Product description & details
Tropica Plant Growth Substrate is a concentrate that is applied under the gravel when setting up the aquarium. The Plant Growth Substrate stores nutrients and releases them to the roots of plants, ensuring healthy and sustained plant growth. It is water-neutral and therefore has no influence on the CH or pH value of the water.
Application
When setting up the aquarium, the substrate is spread in a 1 cm thick layer on the bottom of the aquarium. The table shows the dimensions of some standard aquariums and the recommended amounts of substrate.
At least 3-4cm of gravel is then applied above the Plant Growth Substrate. The gravel acts as a barrier between the concentrated substrate and the water. When planting, the aquatic plants are placed in the gravel as usual, where they then quickly form new roots in the substrate. When planting, the substrate should be disturbed as little as possible to avoid mixing of clay and peat particles with the water.
