Product description & details
The ‘Ulysses’ is a beautiful Bucephalandra variant with dark green to red-brown, long leaves with only slightly wavy leaf edges. In the light, the leaf surface also shimmers metallic blue and violet. Since the leaves of Bucephalandra ‘Ulysses’ tend to be quite large, it is particularly suitable for larger aquariums.
Bucephalandra are among the most beautiful epiphytes known in aquaristics. Characteristic of the Bucephalandra is the growth along a rhizome and the leaves, which are often speckled with white dots, which, depending on the species, can be green to bright red in color and can have a wide variety of shapes. It belongs to the Aracaea genus (araceae) and naturally occurs only on the island of Borneo.
In the aquarium, Bucephalandra can be attached to roots, wood or coconuts. They grow particularly well on porous rock such as lava, but thanks to their adhesive roots they can also cling to smooth rock such as slate or granite. You can tie or glue this epiphyte onto the hardscape or place it in crevices. Bucephalandra are very slow-growing and do very well with little light and small amounts of fertilizer.
