Chikutan tubes are bamboo tubes that are carbonized under high pressure and heat. They are free of harmful substances and cannot grow mold in the aquarium. They also contain a lot of the natural minerals calcium, potassium and sodium and thereby improve the water quality. The tubes can easily be planted with moss and look very decorative standing or lying in the aquarium.
1g of this bamboo charcoal has an area of up to 30m² and therefore offers optimal conditions for the colonization of useful microorganisms, the Chikutan tube therefore supports a filter. Thanks to the large porous surface, the plants and mosses attached to it quickly take root.
Japanese breeders therefore use the tubes for natural water treatment and as shelter for shrimp. Due to their smaller diameter, size S Chikutan tubes are particularly suitable for young shrimps and baby crabs.

Since it is a natural product, size, shape and appearance may vary. Initially the chikutan tubes float. It may take a few days for them to become waterlogged and stay down.
