Alder cones

Our alder cones are a natural product from Carinthia, collected far away from industry and car traffic. They contain valuable active substances such as humins and tannins, which have a mild disinfectant and fungicidal effect and give the water a beautiful amber tone when used in higher doses. Accordingly, the vitality and well-being of the aquarium animals is increased and they can be used, for example, to prevent spawn fungus, but also to treat and prevent fin rot and mucous membrane problems. The alder cones also provide valuable additional nutrients to wood-rasping catfish species.

The pH is only reduced very slightly by adding the cones and the total salt content (conductance) is slightly increased.

Alder cones can be used for:

• combating and preventing thread algae growth
• combating fungal infections
• prevention of spawn fungus
• supportive treatment of bacterial infections
• promoting spawning readiness

Application:
The cones can be added directly to the aquarium or placed in the filter basket. The alder cones release their substances over a period of around 2 weeks and can remain in the aquarium as decoration afterwards.
