Product description & details

Mironekuton powder is an original Japanese and 100% natural mineral powder without any other additives. Due to its multitude of positive properties, it is very popular among Japanese shrimp farmers and plant aquarists, especially when using soil substrate, as it significantly improves important microbiology (bacteria, accompanying fauna). Mironekuton is used as a mineral additive and water conditioner during the aquarium’s running-in phase, thus promoting the development of important microorganisms in the filter and substrate right from the start. During further operation, Mironekuton ensures the mineral supply for the inhabitants and useful helpers in the aquarium through constant mineral release. Mironekuton also has a pH-stabilizing effect and thus prevents dangerous pH drops. It supports total hardness (GH), improves water quality, ion exchange ability, plant growth and root formation, photosynthesis and the release of oxygen. It adsorbs pollutants, ensures crystal clear water and removes unpleasant odors. In Japan, the powder form of mironekuton is mixed into the substrate as a soil additive when setting up the aquarium. To do this, fill the basin with a layer of substrate, then sprinkle on a slightly covering layer of Mironekuton and cover it with the remaining substrate. After setting up and filling with water, some Mironekuton is sprinkled on the surface of the water so that it is evenly distributed as it sinks.

Dosage in the aquarium

A pinch of a knife (approx. 0.4 g) to 10 liters of water every 3 – 4 days. Mironekuton powder is also used by breeders as a nutritional supplement when producing their own feed and is mixed into the feed mass. It is also used for the re-mineralization of osmosis water, fully and partially desalinated water and simultaneous treatment (purification of pollutants) of rainwater.

Notice

Mironekuton has a pH of 7.4. With soft starting water and high dosage, it increases the pH value and the total hardness (GH), as well as slightly the carbonate hardness (KH). These properties are important for stable water conditions and a good, balanced bacterial flora in the aquarium. The slow and continuous release of minerals is measurable using standard water tests and offers a major advantage over artificial and/or quickly dissolving mineral preparations.

Example

50 g Mironekuton powder per 10 liters of osmosis water raises the water values after 24 to 48 hours through re-mineralization to approx. GH 4, KH 1-2, pH 7.4, conductivity 75 µS. (Natural product, deviations possible) Further information on the website www.mironekuton.de

Since an aquarium is a small, self-contained biological system and too much food can put a lot of strain on the water, you should only feed as much as will be eaten in a short period of time. The more polluting the feed, the shorter this time should be. Live and frozen food as well as most (protein-rich) fish foods should be eaten within a few minutes, food sticks for shrimp and crabs in about 2-3 hours.

If you happen to get too much food, the leftover food should be removed from the aquarium after 24 hours at the latest.

Exceptions are of course the permanent food varieties, which are designed for long-term feeding. This includes holiday and weekend food, but also mineral stones or brown leaves like catappa, walnut or oak leaves.
