Known and loved all over the world: the Amano shrimp

The Amano shrimp, Caridina multidentata, owes its name and worldwide fame to the “father of aquascaping” Takashi Amano.

He liked to use them in his natural aquariums because they represent a very natural-looking and good cleaning crew.

They can be successfully cared for with almost any tap water, hard or soft. For breeding, the Amano shrimp needs saltwater, though.

If it gets colder in winter or a little warmer in summer, the animals have no problem with it.

It is important that you slowly get used to the new water conditions, because abrupt changes should also be avoided with Amano shrimp.
