Product description & details

Ludwigia palustris ‘Super Red’ is probably the Ludwigia with the most intense red color and a real eye-catcher! The plant has relatively small leaves and branches well. Without high demands, it is one of the easy-care Ludwigia species. It shows its red color even in moderately strong lighting. With stronger lighting and good nutrition including CO2, the color intensity becomes even more breathtaking. Its leaves remain visibly smaller than those of Ludwigia repens Rubin and regular, vigorous pruning ensures compact growth, as the Ludwigia readily forms numerous side shoots. Furthermore, the Ludwigia palustris ‘Super Red’ is fast-growing and is best used in groups.

In Vitro Plants:
Plants grown in the laboratory have the great advantage of being guaranteed to be free of algae spores, pathogens, snails or other pests. Once the originally sealed in vitro pot has been opened, you have to plant them quickly! To do this, wash off the gel or nutrient solution with room temperature water, divide the plants into several small portions and place them in the aquarium. The best way to press the fine plants into the substrate is with aquascaping tweezers.

Potted plants:
As a rule, nurseries cultivate the plants emersed, i.e. over water. As soon as you put the plants in the aquarium, some species may initially shed the emersed leaves. However, the submerged leaves grow back quite quickly. Our potted plants come from well-known manufacturers such as Songrow (Holland), Tropica (Denmark) and Dennerle (Germany). There are usually no problems with shrimp here. However, we recommend watering the plants for shrimp aquariums for 1-2 days before inserting them. The rock wool in the pot should be removed as much as possible before inserting the plant.

Plant portions:
We also offer some plants, such as mosses or floating plants, portioned in cups. We usually indicate the cup size in the description, but we would like to point out that the filling quantities may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer or batch.
