Something very special for the advanced: the Sulawesi shrimp
The shrimp from the Sulawesi lakes are very difficult to keep and breed and should only be cared for by advanced aquarists.
The animals need very warm temperatures from 28 °C and although the water hardness is quite soft, the pH is around 8.
The germ pressure in the aquarium should be as low as possible.
With these exceptional water values, keeping aquatic plants is rather difficult.
An exception is the Sulawesi domestic shrimp (Caridina pavidentata), which comes from the tributaries of Sulawesi. It can be kept in most tap waters without any problems and can also be easily propagated.
