Product description & details
The Dwarf Catfish (Aspidoras sp. C125) is originally from Brazil, South America, where it is mainly found in coastal rivers. This subtly colored Aspidoras has a pretty pattern of spots in various shades of brown, as well as greenish iridescent patches.
Care in the aquarium
Classic for Aspidoras, the up to 4 cm Dwarf Catfish is a shoal fish that feels comfortable with at least 8 conspecifics. In the aquarium, which has an edge length of at least 60cm (better 80cm), it needs a fine, non-sharp-edged substrate as well as sufficient hiding places in the form of plants and, for example, catfish caves, roots or stones. Oxygen-rich, low-nitrate water with a moderate current is optimal. This fish is fairly easy to keep if these needs are met.
Feeding
Aspidoras are omnivores, so it can be fed a variety of sinking live and frozen foods, as well as greens and sinking commercial catfish food. It is important to feed as varied as possible.
