Product description & details

Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 was developed after scientific analysis of the lakes of the Malilisee system on Sulawesi and is used to harden osmosis water, rainwater, fully desalinated water, etc. It only dissolves in the water with a little effort, but you can achieve an almost identical water composition to them can be found in Lake Towuti, with a correspondingly high pH value of approx. 8.5, which reduces the germ load.

Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 contains all the important minerals and trace elements for the health, well-being and colorfulness of the well-known shrimp species from this region. It promotes microbial regeneration in bio-filter substrates. The risk of dangerous germs is also reduced by particularly promoting antagonistic (counteracting) microflora. Increases the carbonate hardness and total hardness in the ratio KH/GH = 0.78/1.0.

Notice

Since there are still difficulties in breeding the very sensitive shrimps from Lake Towuti (e.g. the Harlequin Shrimp – Caridina woltereckae or Red Line Shrimp – Caridina striata), the Logemann brothers had the water samples analyzed on site – with the result that the lakes of the Malili system differ fundamentally from commonly known types of lake water in terms of water chemistry, so that the constellation of minerals had to be completely reassembled. This resulted in Sulawesi Mineral 8,5.

The less sensitive Sulawesi shrimp such as the cardinal shrimp (Caridina dennerli) can be kept and fed well with Sulawesi Mineral 7,5 and Sulawesi Mineral 8,5. With the very sensitive shrimp species, better long-term success can be achieved using Sulawesi Mineral 8,5, which is based almost identically on the water chemistry of Lake Towuti.

Instructions of use

Stir the Sulawesi salt Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 into water outside the aquarium. It only dissolves with the addition of CO2 over a few days. With a normal amount of CO2 (one bubble per second), the salt dissolves completely in about 3-4 days. After adding CO2, the water must then be aerated with an aerator for at least 3 hours in order to expel the CO2 again. The water is then ready for use. A temperature adjustment to the aquarium water is recommended. Particles that are not dissolved should be added to the aquarium. Close the can after each use.

Dosage
RO water, rainwater, fully desalinated water etc. is remineralised with Sulawesi Mineral 8,5 until a hardness of around 7°dGH and/or a conductivity of around 220 +/- 40 µS (Mikrosiemens) is reached. This corresponds to a slightly heaped measuring spoon (around 3 g) to 20 litres of water.
Measuring spoon is included.
