Product description & details
The Red Aspidoras (sp. C125) is originally from Brazil, South America, where it is mainly found in coastal rivers. This is the albino color variant of the Dwarf Catfish, and has a beautiful orange-red body color.
Care in the aquarium
Classic for Aspidoras, the up to 4 cm Red Aspidoras is a shoal fish that feels comfortable with at least 8 conspecifics. In the aquarium, which has an edge length of at least 60cm (better 80cm), it needs a fine, non-sharp-edged substrate as well as sufficient hiding places in the form of plants and, for example, catfish caves, roots or stones. The Red Aspidoras is fairly easy to keep if these needs are met.
Feeding
Red Aspidoras are omnivores, so it can be fed a variety of sinking live and frozen foods, as well as greens and sinking commercial catfish food. It is important to feed as varied as possible.
